The District 16 Spelling Bee was held on Saturday, May 8, 2010 in Miramichi. We had two participants, Selena Demmings and Alyssa Roberts. Both girls did a commendable job with Alyssa winning second place for the Grade 3-5 category. Congratulations!!
The Harcourt Home and School Association will be having their annual "Men's Night Out" fundraiser on May 15, 2010 at the Harcourt Legion. The tickets are $30.00 each. The roast beef dinner (men only) will be at 6:30 pm and the ladies can join them for the dance at 9:00 pm. The grand prize is $1000.00 in cash with a prize given to every fifth name drawn. There will be a live band, "Heartland", playing for the dance. For tickets see any member of the Home and School Association or call the school at 785-4006.
April 19 to April 23 is National Volunteer Week.
Harcourt School would like to thank all their awesome volunteers for their invaluable work and dedication to the students and staff of the school. You are all so appreciated. We don't know what we would do without you!!
The "Teddy Bear's Picnic" will be held on Wednesday, April 7, starting at 8:30 am. This is an event for new Kindergarten students who will be starting school in September 2010. This Pre-School Screening will involve District 16's Early Intervention Team and Extra Mural Team, which includes Speech and Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Dept. of Health and Dept. of Social Development. There will also be a School Bus Orientation.
The students attending are invited to bring along their favourite Teddy Bear.

The Home and School Association would like to sincerely thank everyone for their support with the Flea Market/Bake Sale that was held on March 20, 2010. It was a huge success and would not have been possible without the hard work of all the wonderful volunteers and community members. It was a very busy morning with lots of delicious baked goods, and all kinds of bargains to be had. Thank you for supporting the school's Hot Lunch Program!
REPORT CARDS will be going home with the students on Friday, March 26, 2010. Parent/Teacher/Student appointments will be attached to the report cards. If you cannot make the scheduled appointment, please call the school at 785-4006 to arrange a more convenient time.
Also, the Annual Gymnastics Show will be held on Wednesday, March 31 starting around 1:15 pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.
