The Miramichi Kinsmen and Anglophone North School District are pleased to accept film entries for the Third Annual Kin Film Festival. All students in ASD-N are invited to participate. Students may submit films in one or both of the two categories. The first category is the Kin Category. Films in this category will address the theme “Doing the Right Thing”. The second category is the Open Category. Films of any genre or subject matter can be submitted to this category. The top films selected in each category will be screened.

There will be no classes for students on Thursday, May 2 and Friday, May 3, 2013 due to NBTA meetings for teachers. Also, Monday, May 20, 2013 is Victoria Day and there are no classes that day.

WEEK #3: Drinks – Keeping Lunch Healthy Dietitians of Canada recommends:Children 1 to 8 years old get 6 cups of fluid per day. 9 to 13 years old girls should get between 8-9 cups per day. 9 to 13 year old boys should get between 10-13 cups per day. WEEK #2 (Feb.11 to 15): Making a Healthy Lunch Fun!  Fun in Preparation. Let children help make their own lunch. Children can also help with grocery shopping and suggestions for lunch items. Include stickers, notes or cartoons in lunch box to brighten up their day!  Convenience Foods. Convenience lunch packs (ie. Lunchables) are easy but they may be high in fat, sugar and salt. So why not make your own. Jazz up your children’s homemade lunch pack with colourful packages, or lunch bags to make it fun.
